Services in the lodges and jungle lodges
The option of knowing the Amazon jungle with a program of visits from a jungle lodge is the most recommended.
The services of a lodge begin with the reception of your guests at the airport of Puerto Maldonado, the transfer by river to the lodge, the accommodation in the room and then the start of all the activities scheduled during your stay.
There are lodges ideal for those who just want to have a light experience of knowing the Amazon, other ideal for trips with children in family and others for extreme activities and deep knowledge and experiences of jungle.
The lodges generally have a central area where the dining, entertainment, kitchen, bar, chat room and administrative area are located. The rooms are cabins with hygienic services. They are usually out of telephony range and have satellite communication services over the Internet and WiFi.
Tour operators of the lodges will be in charge of processing in advance the permits for entry and visit of the protected natural areas.

The Tambopata Research Center
The isolated location of Tambopata Research Center, within an uninhabited area of the Tambopata National Reserve and next to the Bahaone Sonene National Park, means that the ecosystem of the surrounding jungle remains unspoilt, while wild animal populations are its maximum capacity. Many innovative research on macaw conservation has been carried out from the Tambopata Research Center. During your stay, you will probably have the opportunity to speak with expert biologists on macaws, ecologists and other experts who are staying at the Tambopata Research Center while doing field work.
The Tambopata Research Center (TRC) requires at least four nights for travel time. Tambopata Research Center is four hours upstream from Refugio Amazonas. From the Puerto Maldonado airport, they are transported on our buses to the port of Infierno, where they will board our canoes with outboard motors for the two and a half hour trip to Refugio Amazonas. The trip by boat from Refugio Amazonas, to the Tambopata Research Center is four hours upstream, the hostel is a few minutes walk from the port.
The visit to this area does not require the yellow fever vaccine.

Tambopata Lodge Inkaterra
