Sandoval Lake: How to Get?

To reach Sandoval Lake, you must first reach the city of Puerto Maldonado, then you have to sail by boat for 25 minutes following the Madre de Dios River, then you have to walk on a forest road for approximately 40 minutes.

The hike to the lake is a great trekking route that can take between an hour and a half to two, depending on the traveler’s physical conditions and the weather conditions, keep in mind that traveling in the rainy season makes the road more difficult , product of the mud that forms in the journey.

It is accessed by a 3.5 km trail. that crosses forests, the magic begins from the trail where you will notice the variety of flora and fauna that you have, where you can see many birds, monkeys, rodents, reptiles and many varieties of butterflies and insects.
